For your prayers this week

  • Creator God, we live in a world where some of us throw away food while others go hungry. May we shop and eat wisely, not wasting or destroying what we do not need. O God, help us to share in your love for the whole of Creation.
  • For our Diocesan Link in Sudan and for The Holy Land: Lord Jesus, while you hung in agony, in your innocence crucified, you cried to your Father, 'My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?' In the midst of such great darkness be among the suffering on earth, and be their light in the darkness. Lord, have mercy. Amen.
  • In Cross Hills we pray for all who live or work on Thomas Street, Station Road, Bank Road, Newby Street, Anderton Street, & Back Station Road.
  • We pray for all involved in the stories we have seen or heard on the news this week.
  • We pray for all who are ill, in body mind or spirit.
  • We pray for all who have died, and for their bereaved family and friends.
And our prayer for growth:

God of Mission,
who alone brings growth to your Church,
Send your Holy Spirit to give
Vision to our planning,
Wisdom to our actions,
And power to our witness.
Help your church to grow in numbers,
In spiritual commitment to you,,
And in service to our local community,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Good Friday Concert - Bach's Mass in B Minor

Ben Crick and Skipton Camerata join forces with the Leodis Consort to perform Bach's late choral masterpiece.
Completed a year before his death, Bach's great Mass in B minor is one of the pinnacles of human artistic achievement. Although conceived for the church, the B minor Mass expresses a full range of feelings conveying profound humanity whatever one's beliefs.
For this performance Ben Crick and Skipton Camerata join forces with the Leodis Consort, a Leeds-based choir dedicated to delivering high-quality, historically informed performances that showcase the beauty and richness of early music.
29th March 7pm at Skipton Town Hall. Tickets available from:
