For your prayers this week

  • Most holy God and Father, hear our prayers for all who strive for peace and all who fight for justice. Help us, who today remember the cost of war, to work for a better tomorrow; and, as we commend to you lives lost in terror and conflict, bring us all, in the end, to the peace of your presence; through Christ our Lord.
  • For our Diocesan Link in Sudan and for The Holy Land:
Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed; Kindle, we pray thee, in every heart the true love of peace; and guide with thy pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in tranquillity thy kingdom may go forward, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of thy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
  • In Cross Hills we pray for all who live or work on Ryeland Street, Wheatlands Avenue, Main Street, Park Street, Wilson Street, & Ivy Place.
  • We pray for all involved in the stories we have seen or heard on the news this week.
  • We pray for all who are ill, in body mind or spirit.
  • We pray for all who have died, and for their bereaved family and friends.
And our prayer for growth:

God of Mission,
who alone brings growth to your Church,
Send your Holy Spirit to give
Vision to our planning,
Wisdom to our actions,
And power to our witness.
Help your church to grow in numbers,
In spiritual commitment to you,,
And in service to our local community,
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
