For your prayers this week

  • Heavenly Father, at the Jordan you revealed Jesus as your Son: may we recognise him as our Lord and know ourselves to be your beloved children; through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
  • For our Diocesan Link in Sudan: Lord, give a sign of your goodness to the Sudanese people and, as we enter a new year, renew their hope that a better future is possible. Protect those who work for justice and freedom, strengthen those who face injustice daily, and embolden a new generation of activists to believe that freedom is possible. Amen.
  • For the Holy Land: God, you are the shepherd of Israel and Palestine. We pray to you as our faithful God of mercy, compassion and steadfast love. We are a people who desire peace and fear war. Change the hearts of those plotting death, destruction and devastation. Convert the souls of those who are motivated by violence and vengeance.
  • In Cononley we pray for all who live or work on Woodside Lane, Stockshott Lane, Swires Lane, Coppy Lane, Ings Lane, & Shady Lane.
  • We pray for all involved in the stories we have seen or heard on the news this week.
  • We pray for all who are ill, in body mind or spirit.
  • We pray for all who have died, and for their bereaved family and friends.
And our prayer for growth:

Are you called?

Do you feel called to help lead any of our services? Perhaps you feel you might want to help with a talk/sermon/reflection? Maybe you would like to help with pastoral visiting in the parish?

There are a number of very short courses (no essays required!), the diocese puts on to help you do these.

There is also a short course on leading intercessions that I would recommend all those currently leading intercessions to do as well.

If you are interested do have a chat with Rev'd Mike and have a look at more information here:

For Your Diary

In January we are looking for a working party to help us remove some of the clutter from St Andrew's Church and the upstairs of The Parish Rooms, to allow us to develop our spaces a bit better. Could this be you?
If so please speak to Rev'd Mike, Sandie or Joan.
